Since the WII does not go higher than 480P the graphics are upped just slightly. The price I received this cable for was great. There isn't THAT great of a difference in the picture but it can be seen. The package came much earlier than predicted. The packaging was great and the cable does what it says to do. Overall, this is a great cable and is very durable and well crafted. I would recommend this to others who want a "WII HD Experience."
This is a good, long cable, and the performance is on par with any other component cable for a Wii. If a big ugly white cable is the kind of thing you can't stand, you might want to look elsewhere. The white color is completely unnecessary and only makes it stand out amongst all the other cables behind the tv. I don't know anyone who coordinates their entertainment center to match the unsightly white Wii console, but Nyko felt they should do their part to continue in the white tradition. If you don't mind that, I recommend this cable. It works well.
THe HD link for Wii solved the lag problem that my granddaughter was experiencing with her Guitar Hero game on her HD TV.
The only issue that I may have to deal with in the future is that the audio cables can not be split any further from the video. If I'm not exactly right about that one feel free to correct me.
I can only get 480i. I have a standard definition CRT.
One unforseen benefit to using this cable is that it passes a digital signal which makes it possible to set the tv display to either full screen or widescreen. I purchased the cable because I didn't want my baby girl pulling on the composite cable that was plugged in the front of the tv before.
I also reasoned that if we ever do purchase an HDTV this cable would allow the 480p resolution that the Wii provides. The cable works as expected so far, and for a good price.
If I end up getting a separate sound system I'll just pick up extension cables.
If you've got a HDTV and a Wii this is a must buy.Improves many of the graphics. Don't expect miracles, because it only upgrades to 480p but there is still a significant difference.
